Which sneakers look best with your style

Our last blog post caught a lot of attention for the similarities between your personality and your style. This holds true for the sneakers you wear as well. The sneakers you wear and how you take care of your kicks can say a lot about who you are. There are a lot of different types of kicks on the market today and some look better with certain styles. Personally, you can wear any sneaker, any silhouette, or any colorway you want as long as you are confident. Everyone has their own taste when it comes to picking out sneakers but you want to be shopping for the right sneakers to compliment your look.

Let’s start off with the minimalist or simplistic style. Since this style is very clean and basic, you can honestly pull off any type of sneakers you’d like. This look is so simple wearing mostly non branded clothing and jeans (possibly distressed) that you can finesse different types of sneakers into your look. Most likely someone who has simplistic style also stays basic and clean with their kicks. All white and all black but if you see some new releases with some color or a different design, don’t shy away from what you like! Personally, Air Jordan 1’s and Air Max’s (any silhouette) compliment this style really well.

Here come the skaters. When it comes to the skater style, there is a wide variety between sneakers to skate in or to wear casually. Vans, Nike SB, Adidas, DC, and HUF are the most popular skate shoes on the market. Vans and Nike SB are the two brands that give you the best of both worlds. Comfortable and durable while skating with the looks and appeal to pull off a good outfit casually. You really can’t go wrong. There is a bunch of different colorways and silhouettes for each brand so you wouldn’t have a hard time find a pair you like. Personally, Nike SB is my top choice when it comes to the skater style. Some of my favorites are “What The Dunk” SB Low, “Papa Bear” Nike SB High, and “Pigeon” Staple x Nike SB Low.

Now onto one of my favorite styles when it come to sneakers, the vintage look. This style is all about the old school original silhouettes and colorways. Air Jordan retros, original Nike’s, old school Adidas, puma, converse, and even Fila sneakers take the vintage look to the next level. Honestly, any sneaker that released in the late 80’s into the 90’s compliment this look the best. Most if not all of the brands listed above are re-releasing all of the original silhouettes and colorways so be on the look out!

The “influencer” style. These people can pretty much afford any sneaker he or she wants but that doesn’t mean it will compliment their style in the right way. Most people into this look are wearing designer branded clothing which only means that designer sneakers will suit them best. Now you can pull of some Jordan’s and Nike’s depending on the colorway or collaboration. Gucci, Versace, and Balenciaga are the top high end sneakers worn with the influencer style. If you buy high end clothing, you should buy high end sneakers to go with your outfit. You don’t want to be wearing an expensive outfit with cheap sneakers on. That would defeat the purpose of having an influencer style.

The “business casual” style. Someone who wants to be comfortable yet look professional. Most people wear Clarks or Sperry’s with this style but there’s many other option to choose from. Brands like ASICS, New Balance, and even a pair of Yeezys compliment this style. The most popular and versatile silhouette of Yeezy is the Yeezy 350 V2. There’s a ton of great colorways, silhouettes, and collaboration between ASICS and New Balance to compete your outfits as well. Some of my favorite silhouettes are ASICS Gel Lyte 3, ASICS Gel Lyte 5, and New Balance 998. Yeezys are a great option because it’s one of those sneakers you can dress up or down. With this style, you’d be dressing them up but they look good either way. A button down with a pair of colored khakis and a pair of Yeezys is a really clean outfit.
