Top sneakers Kobe Bryant ever played in
If you grew up loving the game of basketball, every kids dream was to make it to the NBA. Shooting around in the driveway pretending there was 10 seconds left on the clock dribbling at the top of the key waiting for that buzzer beater game winning shot. As you count down 10...9...8... you make a move on your defender...7...6...5....you hit the next defender with an ankle breaker crossover...4...3...2 step back jumper...1...and nothing but net as the buzzer goes off. The crowd goes wild!! AHHH!!! AHHH!!! Playing that scenario over and over again kept you out in the driveway for hours at a time. Only a certain few made those dream become a reality. This player is not only one of the greatest to ever play the game of basketball but also a huge inspiration to people all over the globe. His name is Kobe Bryant. Kobe aka Black Mamba was a killer on the court. He did what it took to win and be a champion. In the gym practicing and grinding to make sure nobody else out worked him. His love and passion for the game pushed him to be the best he could be. 5x NBA Champion, 2x Finals MVP, NBA MVP, 18x All Star, 4x All Star MVP, 11x All-NBA First Team, 2x All-NBA Second Team, 2x All-NBA Third Team , 9x All-NBA Defensive First Team, 3x All-NBA Defensive Second Team, 2x NBA Scoring Champion, NBA Dunk Contest Champion, NBA All-Rookie Second Team, and Numbers 8 & 24 retired by the Lakers. Kobe was a different breed!
Unfortunately on Sunday, January 26th, Kobe Bryant passed away along with his 13 year old daughter, Gigi Bryant in a helicopter crash. This was heartbreaking news across the world. All NBA teams have paid tribute to Kobe by running out the 24 second shot clock in honor of Kobe’s number 24 or an 8 second backcourt violation in honor of Kobe’s first NBA number 8. Many players and teams had custom jerseys made by changing each players number to either 8 or 24. Kobe’s daughter, Gigi Bryant was only 13 years old and one of her dreams was to play for the UConn Huskies. The UConn Women’s basketball team honored Gigi by placing a UConn jersey with Gigi’s number (2) on it on the bench next to all the players. Beautiful flowers surrounded her spot on the bench. Gigi will forever be a UConn Husky.
Lace Life Society would like to honor Kobe Bryant in our own way. Over Kobe’s 20 seasons in the NBA, there were a lot of sneakers he played in. Air Jordan and Adidas during early stages of his career and then converting to Nike after signing his endorsement contract. Nike made Kobe his own signature shoe and the shoes became one of the most popular basketball sneakers on the market. With that being said, it’s only right to look back at the top sneakers Kobe Bryant ever played in during his NBA career. Let’s get into it!
